life sure is interesting...

so deb IMed me tonight to look at something and as i was looking at her links, it took me to another link that was a manufacturer's DT call - no biggie - i like to read about different DT calls but this one sounded oddly familiar in fact, one would say that it was copied almost exactly from our DT call - like literally word for word except they changed Maya Road to "insert company name here" and a couple of extra flourishes to personalize it.

right now, deb and i can laugh about it but it really BUGS me when people cannot do their own thing. dude, coming up with a DT call is not exactly rocket science.

out of respect for the industry, i won't post who the offending party is. i will say, read our DT call here:

http://www.mayaroad.com/2006MRDesignTeam.htm (which was published like 3 weeks ago)

and if you see something floating around that sounds almost EXACTLY the same - just remember where it came from.

ok, enough negativity, thank you for all the people who entered. we are overwhelmed by all the people who thought enough of us to enter our call!

Well, if you can laugh it off, I guess you can take it as a compliment! They wanted something good, so they took yours! Sad though it came to that! I was hoping to enter the MR DT, but sadly I can't find enough MR around this small town to make my project 50% MR. I'm bummed! I'm going to try one more store tomorrow. Oh well, at least I got my bum motivated to have a fun new project to display! Good luck to all who enter!!

LOL
I read that today and thought gee that really sounds like the MR DT call then thought about how great it is that American manufacturers are not looking for big names but nicer 'fits' for their teams.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. or an extreme case of laziness. ;-)

Or instead of a scraplift, this could be call a DT call-lift?

LOL I totally seen that and was thinking the exact samething - that sounds like MR dt call. Usually you see people copying stuff word for word, but not usually a manufacturer!! lol what's next hey!! lol

They must look up to MR!!! maybe they are lacking in the confidence department!

Ya, I noticed that today too! Consider it flattery Caroline that someone might want to copy you!!! What else are you gonna do?! They are looking for creativity but have none of their own

when i saw that i was ditsy enough to think that maybe there was like a program or template out there and you just fill in your company's requirements! HA! that just goes to show you how much they copied it word for word. glad to know that you were the original composer though.

I read it and thought the same thing - kept reading thinking it was a typo or duplicate call of MR or something.
